Indy Karting Series officials announced a high-profile schedule of street and permanent course kart races for 2012 as well as an exciting new Jackson Oil & Solvents “Dual Dash for Ca$h” program for its competitors.
The Mooresville (IN)-based kart club’s schedule opens April 28-29 with the annual Jackson Oil & Solvents Grand Prix at the world-class New Castle (IN) Motorsports Park then concludes Oct. 6-7 with the Mooresville Grand Prix at Mooresville’s ultra-fast Pioneer Park. The club also makes first-time appearances at the acclaimed G & J Raceway in Camden, OH, and in the streets of Vincennes (IN), the oldest continually-inhabited European settlement in Indiana (founded in 1732) and one of the oldest settlements west of the Appalachian Mountains. The schedule also includes traditional stops in Seymour (Seymour Grand Prix), Portage (Portage Perch Fest and Gran Prix), and Clinton (Little Italy Grand Prix), all in Indiana.
All seven events are two-day affairs with practice, qualifying, and class pre-finales on Saturday with practice and finales on Sunday. Classes for 2012 include Kid Kart; Yamaha Junior Sportsman; Yamaha Junior Supercan; Yamaha Senior Sportsman Medium, Heavy, and Masters; TaG Lite and Heavy; Clone Lite and Heavy; and Shifter.
Jackson Oil & Solvents Inc. of Indianapolis joins the series to sponsor the new “Dual Dash for Cash” program. The Dual Dash offers prizes for pre-finale and finale winners in selected classes (to be announced at each event). Awards include a new fuel jug, an official Jackson Oil Solvents racing hat, or $25 gift certificate for fuel at a Jackson Oil & Solvents store. “Dual Dash for Ca$h” winners at each event also have their picture taken for possible inclusion in the yearly IKS calendar.
