Tanner Foust and Townsend Bell Commit to Red Bull Kart Fight at PRI, Powered by Rotax

Tanner Foust, three-time X Games gold medalist and two-time Formula Drift champion, and IndyCar star Townsend Bell will race for the Sodikart USA/Gphactory Karting Team team in the Red Bull Kart Fight at PRI, Powered by Rotax.

Sodikart USA is exhibiting in the Performance Racing Industry Trade Show, the world's largest racing trade show, and will display the latest race kart chassis from Sodikart. They will be unveiling for the first time 3 new models for 2012.

Tanner Foust was one of the star attractions at this year's Indy 500 when he made a record 332-foot leap in a race truck in the famous Hot Wheels jump, now viewed by 6.5 million on YouTube. In addition to his success in the X Games and Formula Drift, his varied racing experience also includes open wheel competition, the Pikes Peak Hill Climb, rally racing, sports car racing and the SCORE Baja. Foust is also recognized for his work in front of the camera, as an on-air host for Top Gear USA and Battle of the Supercars. His professional stunt driving credits include Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift, Dukes of Hazzard, Bourne Ultimatum, Iron Man 2, and the remake of Red Dawn.

Townsend Bell competes in the IZOD IndyCar series for Dreyer & Reinbold Racing. Among his many accomplishments is a fourth-place finish in the 2010 Indy 500. Townsend is very well recognized in the open wheel racing community and is sure to put on a great show.

Also, racing for Sodikart in the Karters division are Nick Neri, 2011 Rotax U.S. Senior National Champion; Sam Chastain; Andrick Zeen; and Mike Jones.

“I am thrilled to have such a talented line up of driver for the Red Bull Kart Fight at PRI. We are looking to showcase the fantastic SODI product line and come home with victories in both classes” stated Gphactory President Preston Newberry. “This is a great event to bring our sport to the spot light of the racing community and we are very excited to be apart of it”

Sodikart was created in 1981 by Gildas Merian, its current chairman. The Sodikart factory is located in Nantes, France. When Sodikart's factory activity is at its peak, 30-40 karts are manufactured every day. Annual production reaches at least 4,000 chassis. Europe remains the largest export market for Sodikart, although its karts regularly reach over 40 countries in the world, due to a considerable presence in North America, the Emirates and also Africa.

"It's exciting to present a race where such incredibly talented drivers, from different fields, as Tanner Foust and Townsend Bell will be racing wheel to wheel. The entrants list for the Red Bull Kart Fight has grown rapidly, making it one of the most unique, star-studded races of the year," said John Kilroy, editor of Performance Racing Industry magazine. "This is going to be fun!"
