The first ever TAG Challenge International powered by IAME will see the new CIK-FIA sanctioned championship based on the Parilla X30 engine classes in the spotlight at the Sologne Karting Circuit at Salbris in France this Easter weekend, as the 2011 series makes its official debut.

The exciting launch of the TAG Challenge International takes place at one of Europe’s most well-known and favoured circuits where a long list of prestigious karting events have already been hosted; from national to European and World championships in numerous race classes. The four categories being contested include the X30 Junior, X30 Senior, X30 Masters and X30 Shifter TaG class, which sees a promising start already with more than 70 entries from 10 different countries for the first edition.

Not surprisingly, French drivers make up in excess of half of the start grid at the series opener on the fast and challenging Salbris track they are accustomed to, although the following two rounds of the new TAG Challenge will undoubtedly gain a lot of attention as the season unfolds. Next in line is Zuera, Spain (June 30 – July 3) then proceeded by another of the current world championship venues Wackersdorf, Germany (August 4 – 7) for the title showdown.

Event organisers and promoters RGMMC have introduced the TAG Challenge International as they expand on their success in taking the sport to a level that is now widely expected not only in Europe, but around the world, by bringing their knowledge in international karting to this new series. Managing Director Roland Geidel admits his obvious passion for karting ensures even more competitors should be able to enjoy the possibility of racing against a line up of great drivers from different countries and then develop from the experience. RGMMC continues to provide as they have over the past decade, racing that is fair and organised, always maintaining the guaranteed future of Motorsport as a clear priority.

“The objective is to provide the X30 drivers worldwide with the opportunity to race within a professional, organised, high status series and compete at the highest level on some of the best tracks in Europe. We’re pleased to once again be working in conjunction with one of the World’s leading manufacturers in the karting industry and looking forward to making the TAG Challenge International a fantastic event.”

RGMMC has brought together a very competent and dedicated team of experts who have unknowingly become the benchmark for many karting events worldwide, making positive progress for everyone. Geidel added, “It makes much sense for RGMMC to offer these resources while providing for a growing need for good international competition. However, in reality we must also focus on ensuring the best for the sport we all love by introducing the next generation of drivers, whether young or not so young, to the basics of being the successful race drivers of tomorrow. Today, I believe this is as important as ever!”

With new championships giving drivers more choices to race at national level around the world, this concept allows drivers who want to take the International challenge to go the next step and have some serious fun. For those drivers who may not have the equipment available, there is also the option to rent the specified Parilla X30 engines ‘race ready’ directly from IAME as the manufacturer who provide trackside support from their technicians at each of the TAG Challenge International events.
