EKN Constructors’ Championship - October 13, 2010

The October edition of the eKartingNews.com Constructors’ Championship has been tabulated with the Arrow brand still on at the top with only two events remaining on the calendar. The finale of the WKA Manufacturer’s Cup Series from New Jersey Motorsports Park and the finale of the Rotax Pan American Challenge in California were added to the 2010 totals with Arrow once again extending its lead to no 81 points.

As they have all season long, Arrow went all-out at the Manufacturer’s Cup Series event, this time in New Jersey. With championships on the line, everyone stepped up their game, yet Arrow walked away with the highest total on the weekend with 48 points. Eric Jones, Sam Beasley and one-off driver IndyCar Series pilot Jay Howard all scored a victory with Mark Dismore Jr., Luca Forgeois, Jacob Donald, and Skylar Robinson putting in top-five performances on the weekend. They would however score zero points at the Pan American finale, the fourth time in 15 events thus far this season.

Merlin retains the second spot thanks to their second-highest total from the WKA event in New Jersey. New York driver Michael Politis notched off two wins that weekend while Shinya Michimi, Shawn Sharkey, Joel Jens, Andrew Hobbs, TJ Koyen, and Adam Crepin added to Merlin’s weekend total. On the year, Merlin posted a zero mark seven times this year. Jumping from fifth to third was Tony Kart thanks to solid outings on both coasts. Nick Neri scored 14 points himself at WKA while wins from Stepanova Nekeel and Emmanuel Mastre helped the green and white accumulate an event high 33 points at the Rotax event. Tony Kart has the fewest events with zero points, only the WSK North American Series event in Phoenix. Birel and CRG scored the same 15 points since the last EKN CC release, leaving them locked for position once again, this time in fourth. Birel - who took home the WKA Manufacturers Championship Trophy - has four zero marks while CRG has just three on the year.

Top Kart and GP remain in the sixth and seventh positions while Margay moves past Kosmic for the eighth spot. Kart Mini fell from tenth to 12th as FA Kart and Haase each advance one position to complete the top-11.

Next on the EKN CC calendar will be the final two events of 2010. The WSK North American Series will complete its season at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas - October 22-24. The 2010 EKN Constructors’ Championship will then come to a close on November 17-21 following the running of the SKUSA SuperNationals XIV at the Rio Hotel and Casino.
