WSK World Series - United States Preview

THE WSK WORLD SERIES CROSSES THE OCEAN.
After a successful debut in Portugal, the WSK World karting Series is now ready for the American Race that is the second of the three rounds scheduled over the season: in Millville, New Jersey (USA), the large American complex New Jersey Motorsports Park is going to host the World Series that WSK Promotion organizes.

FROM OLD EUROPE TO AMERICA.
The WSK World Series leaves Europe where the location for the first event was the Portuguese circuit in Portimao and moves now to Millville, a small town situated 60 km from Atlantic City. New Jersey Motorsports Park rises here, nearby the Municipal Airport where American pilots drilled to fly the fighter Republic P-47 Thunderbolt during the Second World War. This aircraft gives the name to the main motor racing track, which is included, along with a second track, in the impressive complex of 2,8 sq. km. Next to Thunderbolt Raceway that is 3620 metres long, there is in fact Lightening Raceway that is 3060 metres in length. The latter includes F1 New Jersey, a multipurpose karting circuit in which a 1700-metre long layout, the Tempest, is going to welcome the WSK world circus.

THE HUNT IS ON FOR THE WSK TITLES.
Straight from the European coast on the Atlantic Ocean, and after the results in Portimao (P), heated duels are expected for every class in Millville. The queen class, Super KF reaches America with Dutch Nyck De Vries (Zanardi-Parilla-Vega) as leader and French Armand Convers (Kosmic-Vortex-Vega) second, with only one-point gap. In KZ2, Belgian Jonathan Thonon (CRG-Maxter-Dunlop) is at the top of the ranking, above his fellow citizen Rick Dreezen (Tony Kart-Vortex-Dunlop). However, after an extraordinary weekend in Portimao, Thonon’s teammate, Californian Gary Carlton arrives with the intention of performing at the best at the home round.

YOUNG CHAMPIONS IN AMERICA.
Rising champions competing in the launching classes yearn for the WSK titles too. In KF2, English Chris Lock is the ranking leader above his fellow citizen Luke Varley (both on a Tony Kart-Vortex-Dunlop). The reigning champion in the WSK European series, Italian Ignazio D’Agosto (Tony Kart-Vortex-Vega) is now expected to recover after missing out on victory in Portimao due to a touch during the race. In KF3, Dutch Max Verstappen (CRG-Maxter-Dunlop) is ready to close the gap on Romanian Robert Visiou (Tony Kart-Vortex-Dunlop) who is the current leader and the brilliant winner in Portugal.

DOUBLE WEEKEND IN THE USA.
The WSK World Series reconfirms its link with the major motorsport events: after sharing the Portuguese weekend with the World Touring Car Championship, in Millville, the WSK world series will take place in conjunction with the second last round of the Ferrari Challenge North America. At the wheel of Ferrari F430, American drivers will be the protagonists of an event that is paired off with the Ferrari Historic Challenge, a competition for the most prestigious models from Maranello.
