The Lavelanet Circuit in France hosts the second edition of the Bruno Grana International Trophy: a race reserved for those drivers involved in the X-30 Championship Challenge, each in their own nation. Karting is the star of the show, above all, the X-30 Parilla engines. Two classes are on the track: the X-30 with an outstanding of 88 drivers and the Gentleman with 30 participants. Drivers representing 8 countries and 4 continents so far: Belgium, France, Germany, Australia, USA, Greece, Spain and Algeria, are the nations attending the IAME event. From next year, the Italian drivers will also be able to participate as this class has just been introduced in Italy. Despite some sudden downpours, the organisation was absolutely perfect.
X30
Full house for the Belgian driver Kenny Vermeylen (Tecno) who wins everything, from the manches to the final. He wins all five heats, and starts in pole position in the pre-final. Behind him is the French driver Enzo Guibbert (FA), losing only in the heat with a direct battle, and Joeffrey Rouchy (Mirage). In the pre-final, Vermeylen manages to get away from the pack and wins the race. Behind him he has Anthony Couto (Sodi) and Steven Lesca (Tony Kart). The first two positions are confirmed in the final, but the third place goes to the French driver Andrea Pizzitola (FA) who started in 5th place on the grid.
GENTLEMAN
The star of the show is the Australian Lee Mitchener (DR): he wins two out of three heats and in the third he is beaten by Frédéric Ostier (Tony Kart) who starts behind him in the pre-final: here, the surprise is Gilles Dupras (CRG) who started in 16th place but, despite the sudden rain shower, makes a huge comeback as he is the only one riding with rain tires and he finishes ahead of Mitchener and the American, Jim Russell Jr. (Zanardi), with an abysmal gap. In the final, Mitchener takes the title in front of Ostier and Remy Provost (Nowa).
