| GPO Karting Series - Varennes-sur-Allier Preview |

The Grand Prix Open Karting FFSA in Varennes-sur-Allier will inaugurate the 2010 season of the French Karting Championship on 28, 29 and 30 May. Organised with special care by FFSA, the GPOs 2010 have the ambition to offer drivers, their entourage and the public, top-level competition and a high-quality show, accessible to the highest number of people. Experienced drivers, young promising talents, and amateurs, coming from France and abroad, will all gather at the wonderful circuit of Varennes-sur-Allier for a not-to-miss sport event.
With over 160 entered drivers, the Varennes GPO will launch the French Karting Championship 2010 under the best auspices. In the international categories - KF2, KF3 and KZ2 - intense competition is ensured by the best French drivers, who will be face-to-face with foreign drivers to conquer the national titles awarded at the end of the five rounds of the season. Amateur drivers have not been forgotten, too, since the FFSA has decided to organise the first French Championship for the "Nationale" category, in the framework of the Varennes GPO. A promotion category benefiting form the organisation of a high-level competition: the good idea to have!
Constructors will compete like last year in their own championships - KF2, KF3 and KZ2 - before the best of them is awarded the title of Champion of Champions.
Regularly associated to the FFSA and the GPOs, the "Fondation Julie Tonelli pour l'Enfance" will be a privileged partner, this time, of the "Nationale" category in Varennes providing, among other things, the trophies for the winners. KF3 will be sponsored by Elf, KF2 by Auto Sport Academy and KZ2 by Itaka.
The FFSA, in collaboration with Delta Management, will prepare a wide reception area to offer all participants a large gathering and functional space, with official results, screens to follow races live, coffee and sweets, among other services; it will be the centrepiece of the GPOs.
Television will also be part of the show in Varennes with a shooting crew. A summary of the event will be broadcast on Direct 8 on 12 June (Saturday) during the programme Autosport, at 7.30 pm, as well as during the programme Grand Tourisme on AB Moteurs, and on a dozen other cable and satellite channels.
