After its opening in Muro Leccese (Lecce, Italy) at the beginning of March, the WSK Euro Series continues its tour around Europe. The European karting championship is arriving to the circuit South Garda in Lonato (Italy) where the 260 registered drivers in the relative five classes will have the opportunity to close the gap, in the weekend of March from 24 to 28.

The coming weekend next Sunday is expected to be an excellent racing one. Firstly, for the race of the top karting class, the Super KF where Marco Ardigò from Brescia (Tony Kart-Vortex-Vega) has dominated the first round of the year and now leads the ranking. Ardigò however, will have to keep at bay Nyck De Vries (Zanardi-Parilla-Vega) a rising fifteen-year driver already tied to the team McLaren. Among the favourites, a mention to French Armand Convers and English Ben Cooper from team Kosmic that favourably impressed at the start of the year. As for the Italians, the best driver coming after Ardigò is Neapolitan Felice Tiene (CRG-Maxter-Vega) now ranking seventh.

At the WSK Euro Series, the sole classes with five gears, KZ1 and KZ2 follow the original format of both competing in the same race but with different rankings. Dutch Bas Lammers (Intrepid-TM-Dunlop) proved to be the best and is at the top of KZ1 ranking above Belgian Jonathan Thonon (CRG-Maxter-Dunlop) and his teammate French Jeremy Iglesias. In KZ2 instead, Paolo De Conto from Treviso (Energy-TM-Dunlop) imposed his supremacy. He amazed everybody at the round in Muro Leccese where he nearly defeated all KZ1 drivers and is now the ranking leader above his teammate German Marcel Jelenioski and Bulgarian Mishel Georgiev (CRG-Maxter-Dunlop).

He won the 2009 final race in Lonato and repeated himself at the start of the year 2010 in Muro Leccese: Ignazio D’Agosto from Bari sprinted like a hare to the top of KF2 ranking and he established himself as the main rival to beat. At the South Garda, his closest pursuers in the ranking, both Brasilian Guillherme (Tony Kart-Vortex-Vega) and Danish Nikolaj Moller-Madsen will chase him.

The class representing the beginning for an international approach (KF3) fills with new talented drivers: Dutch Max Vestappen (CRG-Maxter-Dunlop) is the leader after a wonderful win in Muro Leccese. His countryman Peter Hoevenaars (intrepid-TM-Dunlop) follows close behind whereas French Anthoine Hubert is third. These are only the current leading names but it can’t be ruled out a changing of the guard from the next round.
