| Carolina Motorsports Park Announces First Annual Carolina Karting Championship |

Carolina Motorsports Park continues to become the destination for motorsports in the Southeast with the announcement to host the only sprint kart racing series in the Carolinas beginning on Saturday, February 20, 2010.
The event will be held at their continuously expanding and ever impressive facility, which includes a 2.3 mile, 14-turn road course, club house, and a new .7 mile WKA sanctioned kart track.
The series fills a long overdue void in the region for karting fans and participants. “We are really excited about the potential this series has to turn in to one of the premiere race series in the country,” says Jochen Tartak, CMP General Manager.
The complete schedule consists of 10 races and includes categories for Rotax, Yamaha, Clones, Kid Karts, as well as an Open Shifter Class. Among the races scheduled, the series will include the Carolina Rotax Challenge that will allow participating karters the opportunity to qualify for the US Rotax Grand Nationals.
The track will be open for practice and camping to all participants and guests the Friday before each race on the schedule.
The new kart track is multi directional and has countless configurations. The full course has 16 turns and a 760 ft. straightaway. In addition to the new karting facility, CMP also offers a full service kart shop and is an official dealer for Birel and Rotax products.
