Wheldon to Represent Team Arrow USA at All-Stars Karting Classic

BTK Motorsports, U.S. and Mexico Importer of Arrow Racing Karts, is pleased to announce that IndyCar star, Dan Wheldon will represent Team Arrow USA in the 2008 Performance Racing Industry (PRI) All-Stars Karting Classic. Wheldon will join karting stars, Stuart Marsell and Josef Newgarden to complete a stellar lineup of pilots. This trio of truly talented racers will look to gain wins and add to their impressive resumes.

“Wheldon is a definite threat for victory,” stated Jeff Swoboda from the Snap-on Stars of Karting Series. “He performed very well in previous kart races this season and I am sure he will not have a problem taking the Arrow package to the front of the pack.”

Dan Wheldon, 2005 Indianapolis 500 winner and IndyCar Series Champion, will join Team Arrow USA in the Masters division. Wheldon is no stranger to karting. He began kart racing at the age of four and has continually climbed the ladder to become one of racing’s premier drivers. Currently, Dan is a member of Panther Racing in the IndyCar Series. Wheldon has many accomplishments under his belt including—1999 US Formula Ford 2000 Champion/Rookie of the Year, 2000 Toyota Atlantic Championship Rookie of the Year, 2001 Indy Lights Rookie of the Year, 2003 Autosport.com Rookie of the Year and 2003 IndyCar Rookie of the year. Dan has 72 top ten finishes in his career with 15 career wins. BTK is honored to have him drive our new Arrow X1 CIK chassis powered by one of BTK’s Rotax motors.

Stuart Marsell, fresh off of his third place finish at the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals in DD2, will drive for Team Arrow USA in the Karter division. Stuart is another familiar name in the karting world. Stuart is the 2007 Rotax National DD2 Champion as well as the 2008 Florida Winter Tour Rotax DD2 Champion. “Stuart Marsell is one of the most genuine racers you will ever meet. He is a quiet guy, yet his performance on the track speaks loudly for him. Everyone at BTK loves Stuart and is very happy he is on our team,” states Terrence McCall.

Hotshoe Josef Newgarden will also take a seat on the new Arrow X1 CIK powered by the BTK Rotax motor. Seventeen-year old Newgarden is another well-known name in karting. Josef has been currently racing the Skip Barber Series presented by Mazda. Just this year, Newgarden has completed 14 races in the Skip Barber Race Series gaining three wins, six pole positions, five podiums and setting the fastest track time in three races. Newgarden also made history this year as he was the first American driver ever to win at the famed 2008 Formula Ford Festival at Brands Hatch.

Wheldon will join Ed Carpenter, Michael Valiante, Will Power, Marco Andretti, Antron Brown, AJ Allmendinger, Max Papis, Cristiano Da Matta, Oswaldo Negri, Buddy Rice, Scott Speed, Townsend Bell, Jamie McMurray, Nelson Phillipe, Jan Heylan and Ryan Hunter-Reay in the Masters division.
