SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 22
It was the biggest race in the history of the sport. Prestige, venue, star power and an unrivaled entry list elevated the annual Superkarts! USA SuperNationals to a new level, and SuperSunday delivered everything anyone could have asked for. A majority of the main events were thrilling, a few were dominated by great drivers, and the headline show put everyone on the fence. If you attended the event, count yourself lucky. If you missed it, book your tickets for the ’09 event as soon as the Kutscher’s announce next year’s date.

One on One w/ Dan Wheldon - SKUSA SuperNationals XII
Even with the busy schedule of the National Guard Superkarts! USA SuperNationals XII at the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas, eKartingNews.com was able to sit down with 2005 IndyCar Series champion and Indy 500 winner Dan Wheldon. EKN’s sub-interviewer and former Super Kart Illustrated Editor Tim Blaney was able to sit down with the British-born driver to discuss his participation at his first SuperNationals, his karting past, what his current thoughts are on the sport as it is today, and his upcoming season returning to Panther Racing in the IndyCar Series.

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 20
The buzz and excitement was in the air for the opening day of the National Guard Superkarts! USA SuperNationals XII outside the Rio All Suites Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Throughout the paddock, drivers and crew smiled from ear to ear with anticipation of the biggest SuperNats ever. Thursday was a full day of practice, beginning in the early hours of the day and ending under the lights around the temporary circuit just off the Las Vegas Strip.
