Rice, Speed and Bell Confirmed for All-Stars Karting Classic

The Snap-on Stars of Karting Series and Tony Kart are pleased to announce their driver lineup for the 2008 Performance Racing Industry (PRI) All-Stars Karting Classic to be held in Orlando, Florida. Competing in the Masters division will be former Formula One and current NASCAR Craftsman Truck and ARCA Re/Max Series front runner Scott Speed, Indy 500 Winner Buddy Rice and IndyCar Series competitor Townsend Bell.

Joining the three professional drivers will by Star Mazda front-runner Joel Miller and Rotax karting standout Joey Collins. The talented Joel Miller is a former series champion as garnered the Intercontinental A (ICA) championship in 2006 and has since progressed up the motorsports ladder through the Skip Barber National Championship and now competes in the Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear. Miller claimed one victory so far this season and finished the championship season second overall.

Californian Joey Collins will also make the trek to the sunshine state to battle with some of North America’s best karting stars. With an extensive resume of race wins and championships, Collins also has gained years of karting experience in national level competition that should make him a force on the evening of December 11.

“With just over six weeks before the event, excitement is rising,” exclaimed Snap-on Stars of Karting Series President Paul Zalud. “These two Masters division drivers competed in last year’s event and had so much fun that they are back for more. I can’t wait to get to Orlando and get the event started.”

Speed, who is a former karting champion, competed under the Red Bull racing banner in 2008 in the ARCA Re/Max Series claiming a fifth place position in the series standings. ’08 also saw Speed compete in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series after coming back to North American racing from the Formula One World Championship. Speed will join the Inaugural PRI All-Stars Karting Classic winner and IndyCar star Buddy Rice, who actively competes in karting. Joining both Speed and Rice will be IndyCar Series regular Townsend Bell who looks to turn his karting experience into a race win in the Masters class.

“We are glad to have Tony Kart be the first announcement for the PRI All-Stars Karting Classic,” explained Jeff Swoboda. “There are several more announcements coming and we are anticipating our biggest event to date. We are looking forward to getting down to Orlando and helping promote the sport of karting to the rest of the motorsports industry.”

With a host of driver announcements and news forthcoming, please stay tuned to http://www.StarsofKarting.com for your up-to-date information. The PRI show takes place at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida from December 11-13 with the All-Stars Karting Classic taking place on the evening of December 11.
