Welcome to karting! This is an awesome sport, but it can be confusing. I definitely recommend talking to a shop and talking to local racers. MDG Karting in Orange, CA is a great shop that is only a short drive from you. I have known the owner, Stu Hayner, for a long time and he is very passionate about getting new racers into the sport of karting, and keeping them in the sport. He can answer all your questions and also set you up with a good kart that is ready to run for a good price. Check them out at http://mdgkarting.com/.
Have fun and best of luck with your search!March 21, 2015 at 10:23 am #44539

Bakersfield and Dixon run what is called the Senior Super Sportsman class. This class utilizes an RLV3 pipe. This is a different pipe than the L2 pipe (or any other A/L/G series pipe). It is a smaller pipe than the L2, making it potentially easier on clutches and engines. Both or either club may allow the use of an HPV3 pipe, which can be found used for less money than a new RLV3 pipe. The HPV3 and RLV3 pipe are very similar.January 21, 2015 at 4:50 pm #40852

“Also, I’ve seen ikarts with TAG motors, but has anyone used it in Yamaha?”
I’ve seen them used with a KPV/HPV (similar to Yamaha and run in the same class with Yamaha on the west coast). The Ikart seemed to work very well with the 100cc KPV power plant.September 29, 2014 at 10:26 am #34641

I think this might be it:November 8, 2013 at 12:09 am #15038
I do. I have a high top camper shell with a kart rack that sits on top of the bed rails, made out of wood, that serves as a platform for a second kart. I made some ramps that allow me to roll the second kart up onto the platform. I have an 8′ bed though. If you have a shorter box and no camper shell it may be a little more difficult to build a similar setup to mine, as the shell provides the bracing for my platform and the extra bed space provides the room I need for the ramps and to store taller items.October 21, 2013 at 11:06 pm #13353

I am still looking for more pipes, particularly used pipes. Midwest guys, somebody must have some pipes sitting around in the garage? Us west coast racers would sure like to put them to use. Send me a pm if anyone has anything.
ThanksOctober 20, 2013 at 9:21 pm #13243
Thank you for the kind words! Glad you had fun at Round #6 and I hope that you are healed in time for Round #7.
F100 had some excellent racing on track at Round #6, and we look forward to more of the same at Round #7, the final round of 2013 to be held on November 30th at Grange.
F100 has classes for drivers of all ages, and we are looking to grow our Junior and Cadet divisions heading into 2014, to go along with our already well populated Senior classes.
If you would like to learn more about F100 please head to F100karters.com.
See you at the track,
