I noticed my used kart doesn’t have the steering shaft collars around the upper plastic bushing. It seems like pulling on the wheel would cause the uniball to come out of it’s spot without the collars, but it hasn’t happened. Do people normally just leave these off?

There is a snap ring holding the bearing in place. Unless you be Godzilla, you probably can’t pull hard enough to pop it out!

There is a steering shaft locking collar that’s available.
