Could this be the BIGGEST California ProKart Challenge race YET? Sure looks that way!
PROKART CHALLENGE 2016 – ROUND 4 OF 6
SIMRACEWAY PERFORMANCE KARTING CENTER – SONOMA, CA
THIS WEEKEND – FRI-SAT, JUNE 3-4
Pre-entry cutoff: TONIGHT, Tuesday, May 31st at midnight!
What an awesome place to be at this time of year – Sonoma Raceway and Napa Valley! And what a powerful bunch of racers we have in the NorCal area — planning to come out and shake up our championships!
You can register to race, buy your mechanic or your family their pit passes, rent a transponder, even pay for Friday practice – our ONLINE STORE at http://www.skusastore.com has it all! NOTE: The SKUSA online store CLOSES for this event TONIGHT, TUESDAY, MAY 31ST AT MIDNIGHT, so be sure to get what you need before then. The race is THIS Saturday!
Our Event Pages at http://www.superkartsusa.com/regional/california-pkc/event-calendar/round-4-2016.html give you all of the important information you need about this race, including:
DISCOUNTED PRICING TO RACE: Your BEST racing deal is to purchase OUR PKC ONLINE PRE-ENTRY PACKAGE – your race entry and mandatory PKC-stamped race tires thru our online store with a credit or debit card for just $325. This price is only good online before the cutoff of this Tuesday, May 31st at midnight. If you would like to pay by cash or check at the track, you can pre-register with our DOWNLOADABLE entry form — and still save time and money at the track! Just fill it out and send it to us prior to the 5/31 midnight deadline! A walk-up race entry is still available at the track for $160 (not including race tires).
CLASSES: We are running these 11 classes all season long: S1 Pro Stock Moto, S2 Semi-Pro, S3 Novice, S4 Master, S4 Super Master, S5 Junior, Micro Swift, Mini Swift, X30 Junior, X30 Senior, and X30 Master. All 1st thru 3rd place finishers in each class are eligible for trophies, and ALL drivers in attendance at the podium ceremony will be eligible for impressive RAFFLE prizes! Who couldn’t use a FREE entry to the next race, or a FREE set of tires – just for sticking around for the raffle?
TRACK & VENUE INFO: Everything you need to know about this racing venue is posted at the link above, including directions, gate hours, pit spot info, overnight camping, even the track map! PLEASE read this page carefully, as it lists some important rules that you should know before you prep your kart and pack your trailer – like the requirement that ALL STOCK HONDA ENGINES MUST HAVE AN AIRBOX (per SKUSA rule 184.108.40.206).
SPEC FUEL/OIL – PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN: The spec fuel is now VP C12 only for ALL classes. The spec oil is still Motul 2T Grand Prix. Remember, we do not provide these products at our ProKart Challenge events, so please plan to get your necessary supply from your local kart shop – before you show up to the track! VP fuel is extra scarce in the area.
ANNUAL SKUSA MEMBERSHIP IS MANDATORY: Don’t forget that an active SKUSA membership/racing license is required to race! That can be bought/renewed thru our ONLINE STORE for just $75, and is good for a full 12 months. We normally confirm your race number within 48 hours of receiving your application and other necessary information (birth certificate or passport needed for racers under 18).
COLORED NUMBER PANELS ARE MANDATORY: Per the info posted on our website at http://www.superkartsusa.com/regional/california-pkc/about/race-number-panels.html Be sure to confirm your race number and letter designator with us BEFORE you order your number panels! (NOTE: We do not supply the number panels.)
COMPETITION RULES: Specific rules for our series can be found http://www.superkartsusa.com/regional/california-pkc/rules.html, including a link to our latest SKUSA Rulebook online.
TENTATIVE EVENT SCHEDULE: is posted as well. NOTE: there is HALF-DAY THURSDAY practice being offered by the track on June 2, starting at noon. We will be handing out the Friday practice day schedule at Registration check-in (Friday morning), and the final Saturday race day schedule on Friday afternoon.
NO PIT MAP OR PIT SPOT RESERVATIONS: It is easiest for this large event and venue if we do not have reserved pit spots and just start parking drivers and teams on Thursday morning at 7am, starting with the class and event sponsors that are in line at the gate. The pit area will surely fill up for this event, so please plan to take the least amount of space possible, arrive with all of your trailers that want to be parked together, and please be patient upon arrival. We will do our best to park everyone as quickly and efficiently as possible. (No trailers are to be left at the track Wednesday night.)
OVERNIGHT CAMPING IS FREE: Pit parking and overnight camping on site for this event will be at no charge and will start on Thursday, June 2nd, when the Raceway front gate opens at 6am and the kart track gates open at 7am. If you have an RV/motorhome/camper, you will have to park it down below the kart track in lot 2. Only vehicles like trailers/toy haulers that are necessary for pitting/kart prep will be allowed in the pits. See the Venue Info page at the link above for more details here.
NEED HOTEL RESERVATIONS?: There are a number of nice hotels in Sonoma and the surrounding areas. We have listed 2 of them on our website.
CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES: The ProKart Challenge is a 6-race Championship series with 1 drop — and exciting year-end prizes!
Don’t forget that our deadline to PRE-REGISTER for this race and purchase the other items you need for this event is TONIGHT, MAY 31ST, AT MIDNIGHT – at http://www.skusastore.com – DO IT NOW SO YOU DON’T MISS OUT!
Hope to see YOU at Simraceway in Sonoma!
