I have a KT100 engine that backfires. It shoots fire out of the carb and exhaust. It is a redone motor with no hours on it. There is a 4 hole can on the back. I changed every part on it with a  motor that I also rebuild and that one ran. I would like some help if any one knows about it.

Your timing slipped when it was rebuilt. Happened to me a few times

How do I advance and retard the timing if it is set by the position of the coil and flywheel?

It’s usually out 180 deg or it has slipped off the crank. I don’t build my own engines but have had this Happen before and that’s exactly what it was

The flywheel is out 180 degrees?
