The Georgia Sprint Karting Association (GSKA) is proud to announce that after renting the Lamar County Speedway track in Barnesville GA for ten years, our club has signed a long term lease on the property with an option to buy. This is the first step to bring this track back to the glory that it had in the past. Future plans are to repave the track, lengthen the track, install new lighting, renovate the pits and update all fencing and barriers. Lamar County Speedway held the VERY FIRST WKA event in 1972 and has had a who’s who of racers since that time. The WKA returned to our track three years ago with a Gold Cup and our future goal is to bring the Man Cup back to the place it started at.

The GSKA is a not-for-profit operation whose only goal is to spread the word of karting and restore Lamar County Speedway to it’s former glory. To that end, the GSKA will be accepting donations from people who would like to help. Donations will be acknowledged prominently at the track. All donations will be held in a special escrow fund. Please contact me if you have interest in helping the club restore this historic track.
