Can you run a 99 engine with a 01 top end cylinder? Or will it blow up/not work or not be competitive?

    John,

Are you running an actual 99 bottom end or is the engine a 99 kit motor with a 99 cylinder currently on it?

If it is the stock  Honda kit motor you are running, which is actually a combination of different years parts the 01 will work just fine. The 01 cyl is what the majority of skusa racers are running at this point.

If you run the 01 vs 99 is there a difference in ignition setup?

just run stock ignition timing, stock seems to give the best of both worlds in terms of top and bottom end
