Wins for Lindberg and Pendykoski Have Special Meaning at Merrittville

The 2017 Kart Season opened May 10th with wins for John Farnan Lindberg and Nigel Pendykoski having special meaning.

Lindberg’s win was definitely an emotional one as immediately after taking the checkered flag in the Senior Fun Division, the Crystal Beach Driver was joined by fellow competitors (his brother) Paul Lindberg and Ed Crozier in a three wide victory lap honouring his daughter Kayla Farnan.

Farnan passed away January 31st after complications during childbirth.

Pendykoski of Niagara Falls dedicated his first win of the season as a rookie in the RCM Racing Equipment Junior 1 Division to his grandfather – former Saturday Night racer John Pendykoski who is recovering from recent surgery.

Other Burris Tire Feature Winners in the first Bobcat of Hamilton Weekly Karting Series Event included rookies Wayne Swinson, Christopher Crowe and Jaedon Lawson in the Designed Wright Novice 1, St. Catharines Discount Auto Parts Wilder Racing Engines Novice 2 and Superior PetroFuels Junior Restricted Divisions respectively.

Veterans Joey Priestley and Travis Majuery also were first time winners in the Quick Ink Custom Screen Printing Junior 2 and Southern Ontario Modified Lite Racing Association Senior Animal Divisions.

Kart Racing continues Tuesday May 16th. Pits Open at 5:30 and when the racing starts at 7 PM – Grandstand Admission is FREE.
