Checkered Motorsports SKUSA SuperNationals XIX Preview
With months of preparation, Checkered Motorsports is set to compete in what is considered the Super Bowl of karting, SuperNationals XIX. The Girard, Ohio based operation is no stranger to the SKUSA Fikse Wheels Pro Tour. The PCR chassis have capitalized on victories, poles, and podiums in the first two rounds and seek to keep the black and yellow machines up front. An experienced six pilots are set to compete on the technical .84-mile circuit.
Consistency is what wins national titles and races. Chris Guimarra has done just that in his first two outings with his PCR/BBS X30 package as he currently sits second in the TaG Masters title hunt, trailing a mere 60 points. After a dominate performance at the SummerNationals, sweeping the field with two poles and two victories, the New Jersey native looks to keep the momentum going heading into Las Vegas.
Making the switch to the PCR package earlier this year, Annie Rhulie is ready to make her first appearance in the streets of Las Vegas. Competing in a stout 85 kart field in TaG Cadet, the young 10 year old is eager to make a strong outing in her first street race.
The PCR Mxk8 125 chassis has seen nothing but success in the stock moto category. An experienced 4 pilots are set to compete in S2 consisting of Kyle Knecht, Kyle Smith, Robert Bujdoso, and Andrew Bujdoso. All four pilots are no strangers to the SuperNationals with Smith and Knecht’s last appearance being in 2011. Smith and Knecht demonstrated speed and consistency at the SummerNationals and look to translate that heading into Las Vegas. Utilizing a BBS prepped Stock Honda, the Bujdoso brothers look to best last year’s performance.
