Top Kart USA continued making a strong presence in the United States Pro Kart Series at last weekend’s exciting stop at the New Castle Motorsports Park in New Castle, Indiana. Across seven classes, the Top Kart drivers finished with a slew of top-tens, strong finishes, and made claimed the championship titles in Yamaha Junior and TaG Junior. All in all, it was yet another successful weekend for the ever-growing, championship winning Top Kart USA squad.

In the Leopard 125 Pro division, Phil DeLaO was ready to fight in the strong field that showed up to New Castle this past weekend. After a strong battle, DeLaO finished fifth in Saturday’s event. His luck didn’t follow him through to Sunday, however, finishing 25th. Calvin Stewart’s weekend didn’t start out on top, getting disqualified in Saturday’s race, but he pulled through with a 16th place finish on Sunday.

Giovanni Bromante pulled out a solid top-ten finish in Mini ROK Saturday, finishing in the seventh position. His teammate Pauly Massimino wanted a taste of Bromante’s finish on Sunday, but the two ended up battling it out for 15th and 16th. Bromante continued to push for a podium and succeeded in doing so in Yamaha Cadet on Saturday, turning out a fifth place finish. Just missing a podium fight, Bromante finished eighth Sunday. His teammate Massimino fought hard in the Cadet group as well, but finished just inside the top-20 consecutively.

The Yamaha Senior Pro driver Killian Keaveny was not taking “no” for an answer all weekend, pulling out a sixth and seventh in both finals, respectively. Dakota Pesek subscribed to the same drive throughout the weekend, but came out with a solid tenth Saturday but fell to an 11th place spot on Sunday’s final. With the weekend’s results, Pesek claimed third in the overall Yamaha Senior points championship.

Top Kart USA’s talented Yamaha Junior class was ready to make a championship statement in USPKS’s final series installment. Zach Holden came ready to defend his champion status, securing a second consecutive Yamaha Junior class championship with his fifth and third place finishes in New Castle. David Malukas wasn’t far behind with a seventh place finish on Sunday, and battled his teammate, Holden all the way through to the finish Sunday, taking second place. Sheldon Mills also finished strong on Saturday with ninth; however Sunday didn’t prove to be as lucky for him, finishing just outside the top-ten.

Owen Mahle could practically taste that first place victory but ended up finishing third on Saturday. Ready for another chance at victory, Mahle fought hard and ended the day in the eighth position.

The team’s success continued in the junior categories in Leopard Junior. David Malukas put a stamp on his championship campaign by going 1-1 on the weekend and claiming the TaG Junior championship title. Malukas was fast straight of the hauler and now looks to finish out the season with more race wins and the SKUSA Pro Tour title in Las Vegas this November. Both Zach Holden and Abby McLaughlin had up and down weekends in the category. On Saturday Holden had a DNF, but rebounded with a strong third place podium finish on Sunday. McLaughlin finished 11th on Saturday, but DNF’d on Sunday.
