Honing his skills in the Sunshine State for the past few months, Floridian driver Jeremy Fairbairn is set to make the move to an experienced squad. Joining Team Koene USA for the upcoming Rotax Summer Shootout, Rotax MAX Challenge United States Grand Nationals and the Rotax Pan American Championships, the Tony Kart driver will look to top the blocks in the ultra-competitive Rotax Micro Max division. Running as an independent for the majority of his young karting career, Fairbairn will look to benefit from a team atmosphere, shared data and years of experience that have proven to be successful since Team Koene USA’s existence.

“We are very happy to have Jeremy under the tent and feel that he will be a threat for race wins,” explained Team Koene USA principal Mike Maurini. “Ultimately we are working towards a long term deal that will see Jeremy with us for 2015 but first and foremost, we will concentrate on the upcoming events.”

Fairbairn showed great speed and success in 2013. Scoring multiple World Karting Association Manufacturers Cup victories as well as a third place finish in the Yamaha Rookie point standings, the Tony Kart pilot rocketed into 2014 as one of the favorites in the Florida Winter Tour Rotax Micro Max ranks. Running at the pointy end of the field throughout the series, Fairbairn managed multiple podium results and also scored a third place finish in the championship points chase.

“We are pumped,” stated Marcel Fairbairn, father of Jeremy, from his home in Florida. “We follow a lot of the national events online and Team Koene USA drivers are always at the front of the field. With great motors, a good driver and mechanic combo, we are confident that the team will put us in the best position to win. They have already made us feel so much like part of the team and our first event together is not for another six weeks. Very excited!”

While Fairbairn and Team Koene USA will get their feet wet at the Rotax Summer Shootout at the Miller Motorsports Park in June, the team and driver combination will use the event to learn about one anther and test setups for the prestigious Grand Nationals that will take place one month later. In October, Fairbairn will compete in his final Micro Max event at the annual Rotax Pan American Championships before quickly making the switch to the Rotax Mini Max ranks. Already competing and winning in the Vortex TaG Cadet class, the young driver will look to carry his momentum into the latter half of 2014.

Maurini added, “We run a very tight ship program and make sure our drivers are involved in a lot of aspects of kart setup, data analysis and of course preparation for the next day on track. With Jeremy’s natural ability and aggression on track, we are confident that he will benefit from our program and continue his upward trend.”

Jeremy will be the fifth driver as a part of Team Koene USA for these events. Further announcements and pre event media releases are forthcoming.
