Traveling to the GoPro Motorplex in Mooresville, North Carolina, Top Kart USA would have several customers take part in the opening round of the United States Pro Kart Series (USPKS). With a strong field of competitors in almost every division, Top Kart USA would end the weekend with four main event victories and eleven top five results.

“We had a small group of drivers at the USPKS program but the results were the same,” expressed Bill McLaughlin. “From wins at the Florida Winter Tour to the World Karting Association, we continued the success at USPKS and will now try to do the same at SKUSA.”

The talented David Malukas would lead the team to the front as the up and coming driver would top the podium on two occasions throughout the event weekend. Taking the victory in Saturday’s Leopard Junior main event, Malukas would also claim the checkers in Sunday’s Yamaha Junior final improving from his second place result on Saturday. Scoring another top five finish, Malukas would end Sunday’s Leopard Junior final in fourth.

Zach Holden would add to the teams success taking one victory and three podium result in four main events. Topping the field in Saturday’s Yamaha Junior main event, Holden would also score third and second place finishes in Leopard Junior. The Indiana native would only have one falter on the weekend but would battle back for a strong sixth place result in Sunday’s Yamaha Junior final.

Adding to Top Kart USA’s win total, Dakota Pesek would finish second on Saturday and improve Sunday to stand atop the podium. Competing in the Yamaha Pro category, Pasek proved to be one of the drivers to beat on the weekend and will be a threat for the overall USPKS title.

Max McLaughlin and Sheldon Mills would add three top ten finishes for the team in the Yamaha Junior field with McLaughlin having great success. After crossing the line seventh on Saturday, McLaughlin would go to work on his Top Kart and improve Sunday to finish a solid second. Mills would add a tenth place finish on Saturday.

Stone Slattery and Pauly Massimino would both compete in the Yamaha Cadet and Vortex Mini Rok classes having mixed results. Slattery would claim a tenth place result in Saturday’s main event but would fail to finish on Sunday while Massimino would reverse the rolls and improve from Saturday’s DNF to come home eighth on Sunday. Massimino would also add a seventh place finish in Saturday’s Vortex TaG Cadet class.

Top Kart USA will now shift their focus to the Superkarts USA (SKUSA) program. With drivers set to take to the Dallas Karting Complex for both the Texas Pro Kart Challenge and the SKUSA Pro Tour events in late April and early May, the talented group of drivers will look to continue the success they have had so far in 2014.
