The time is finally here. The start of the much-anticipated 2014 United States Pro Kart Series (USPKS) is just around the corner and support continues to pour in for their sophomore season. With the first event this coming weekend at the GoPro Motorplex in Mooresville, North Carolina pre registration closes today, Monday, April 7th at Midnight.

Series President Mark Coats stated, “It has been a long winter and we have been hard at work putting together an exciting program for the United States Pro Kart Series season. 2013 was a great rookie campaign and we are building on that momentum to make 2014 bigger, better and stronger.”

“More and more companies in the karting industry are jumping on board as they believe in the USPKS program,” added Coats. “We are pleased to welcome Performance Kart Technologies (PKT), BENIK Kart, Praga and IAME to the program for 2014.”

Coats continued, “We want to clarify some rumors in regards to the monetary awards that will be awarded to the six classes that are receiving money. This money will be awarded no matter how many entries that class receives, whether it be six or sixty. We understand that competitors and their families invest a lot into this sport and national events, and we are working hard to ensure that they are awarded for their results and support.”

PKT will provide twenty $50.00 gift certificates for the United States Pro Kart Series and the Route 66 Sprint Series. Four gift certificates will be handed out at each drivers meeting in each series throughout the 2014 season and four will be awarded to competitors at the year end award banquet.

BENIK Kart will be a new chassis brand to the USPKS program in 2014, as they will enter a talented team of drivers. Based in South Florida, BENIK Kart will be sponsoring the competitor cookout at the Mooresville event.

Praga Kart and IAME will join forces to send one lucky and deserving United States Pro Kart Series Leopard Pro participant to the IAME International Final in Europe later this season. Each and every race winner of the Leopard Pro division throughout the 2014 season will have their name entered into a raffle with the drawing being held at the conclusion of the final event. The raffle winner will receive free support with the Praga factory team as well as use of a Praga chassis, IAME X30 engine, tires, tent space, entry and fuel at no charge. More details on this exciting prize package will be announced in the near future.

Last but not least, the United States Pro Kart Series is pleased to announce John Motley as the Technical Director for the program. Motley, who has years of experience with several of North America’s top series, will be in charge of all post race technical inspection.

A few minor corrections have been made to the 2014 USPKS Rulebook and it can be found HERE. The USPKS staff encourages all teams and participants to read and understand the rulebook in its entirety.
