Racing4Vets Veteran Kart Challenge Set for GoPro Motorplex on May 19
The First Annual Racing4Vets Veteran Kart Challenge to benefit Service-Disabled U.S. Military Veterans will be held at GoPro Motorplex in Mooresville, NC on Monday, May 19, 2014 from 5:00 to 10:15 PM. This event will feature a number of top NASCAR® Sprint Cup, Nationwide, Camping World Truck, K&N Pro Series and Whelen Modified Tour drivers racing high performance go karts. The race is a two hour team relay format with race fans personally racing on the same kart teams as the pros!
Timing of the Racing4Vets Veteran Kart Challenge puts it directly between the NASCAR All-Star Race on May 17 and the Coca-Cola 600 on May 25 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. These two races generate a huge concentration of NASCAR fans and motorsports media in a single location, offering excellent marketing exposure for your company.
The race will be broadly publicized across multiple online, social media, radio, PR and print channels, reaching over 5 million consumers. An additional 2,500 race fans will visit the track for a chance to race karts with their favorite NASCAR® driver.
Event attendees will have the opportunity to participate in multiple exciting activities:
An autograph signing session with NASCAR® drivers
A two hour endurance kart race with each four-person team made up of a NASCAR® driver and three race fans. Racing4Vets will field two race teams of service-disabled veterans drivers.
A raffle of NASCAR® race memorabilia, racing gear and other donated items
A “Wall of Significance” to pay respect to our fallen and injured U.S. Military Veterans
A chance to visit Sponsors’ demonstration booths
An opportunity to meet and greet service-disabled U.S. military veterans
A food drive for local veterans and their families in need
All proceeds from the event go to Racing4Vets, a 501(c)(3) non-profit which helps service-disabled veterans recuperate from their injuries, obtain career training and experience healthy competition through participation in motorsports.
Racing4Vets assisted over 120 service-disabled veterans in 2013, with over 500 veterans expected to participate in our programs in 2014. The money raised from the Racing4Vets Veteran Kart Challenge will provide funding that goes directly to helping service-disabled veterans and their families. Visit Racing4Vets at www.racing4vets.org
