New Jersey Sprint Series Holds 2013 Karting Awards Banquet
The final event of the 2013 New Jersey Sprint Series (NJSS) took place on the evening of January 18. With over 120 guests in attendance for the 2013 Karting Awards Banquet, the night was a great time for all to reminisce about the past season and plan ahead for 2014.
The night began with the NJSS congratulating their 2013 WKA Manufactures Cup Champions: Brandon Jarsocrak, Austin McCusker, Garrett Johnston, and Scott Ferris. The New Jersey Sprint Series recognized another 17 drivers for their top ten finishes in the 2013 final Man Cup standings. The New Jersey Sprint Series then acknowledged the lead mechanics/parents of the racers who won the 9 individual New Jersey Sprint Series 2013 titles. The mechanics for the champion drivers include Brian Tremper, Bill Boos, Maria Buonaventura, Jeremy Owens, Eric Johnston, Eddie Jarsocrak, John Ferris, Joe Healey, and Preston Peacock. After congratulations were given to the head mechanics it was time to move on and honor our 2013 Champions.
2013 New Jersey Sprint Series Champions
This year’s prize package for all 38 place winners included a New Jersey Sprint Series / GEARUP custom driving suit. Each Class Champion received a 2013 NJSS Champions Cup trophy, a New Jersey Sprint Series black down vest, and a bottle of champagne or sparkling cider. All place winners received a 2013 New Jersey Sprint Series plaque and contingency awards courtesy of LEATT for 50% of any LEATT product. Each driver per class was eligible for a set of BRIDGESTONE tires courtesy of GRAND PRODUCTS.
After all the class awards were given out, it was time to move onto the numerous giveaways. Over $20,000 worth of merchandise to give away, all were assured to walk away with something. The “grand” giveaways included 2 complete PRD engine packages courtesy of RLV/PRD-USA, Contemporary Motor Cars/Scott Coleman, and the Ferris Family. Several giveaways to NASCAR Events; consisting of a complete race weekend of 4 tickets to the Nationwide Race and Cup race at New Hampshire International Speedway, 2 Tickets to the Richmond International Raceway evening Cup Race, and tickets to numerous activities at Pocono Raceway. Kustom Kart Shop contributed a generator and Blue Bell Technology contributed 2 Lithium Ion 20v DeWalt Impact drivers. Zero-Error Racing contributed a set of well machined 50mm hubs. GRAND PRODUCTS supplied free entries into round 1 of the 2014 New Jersey Sprint Series, 5 MiR driving suits, numerous t-shirts, and other items to be used on race days. Adkins Speed Center supplied gift certificates for engine rebuilds and clutch blue printing; Woltjer Racing Engines provided some free dyno testing sessions and Fastech-Racing provided give certificates for money off the purchase of merchandise. World Karting (WKA) provided free memberships. Other banquet contributors were, TS Racing, Kart Masters, Area Auto Racing News, Martinsville Speedway, Raceway Park, Boca Bearing, Burris Racing, Haddock Ltd, JC Specialty, and Scribner Plastics. The New Jersey Sprint Series also would like to thank Anki Drive for their generous gift of 2 Anki Drive starter kits for their artificial Intelligence racing game.
