David Malukas Declared the Mini MAX Champion from the Micro & Mini Invitational
We are pleased to officially announce that Chicago’s David Malukas is the official Mini MAX Champion from the Micro & Mini Invitational at NOLAMotorsportsPark during the 2013 Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals. With Malukas declared the winner, the final podium positions were captured by him in first, Samuel Lupien (Canada) in second and Devin Boutot (USA) in third.
When interviewed after the race, David said. “It took some time to adapt to the Haase chassis because I’d never run one before. We stayed consistent all week and put ourselves in position for a win. We would have liked to have gotten it outright on the track, and then it was a long wait for an announcement. I’m really happy we’re the winners and thanks so much to my dad, my tuner Wes Phillips, HMD Trucking and everyone who helped us this season.”
David’s father and main supporter Henry Malukas added. “This is an incredible accomplishment for David and we couldn’t be happier. A win at the Grand Finals is something we’ve aimed for. I didn’t think it would happen this soon but David has continued to improve and show great skill behind the wheel. This is certainly the greatest way to end David’s career in Mini MAX. Thank you to all who have helped David and myself through this incredible journey,” Henry said.
With the results now official in the Mini MAX category, the official top ten classification is as follows:
