Pro Gas Animal to Pay $2,000, Race Ready Engine to Win at Daytona KartWeek Dirt World Championships
The 2013 Daytona Dirt World Championships will include a new class mostly foreign to dirt competitors throughout the country.
Baker Racing Engines-sponsored Pro Gas Animal, a division WKA introduced this past year in the Gold Cup Series, will run this December 27-29 at Daytona’s quarter-mile Flat Track and will pay a guaranteed $2,000 to the winner plus a new, race-ready Pro Gas Animal engine.
The Pro Gas Animal main event winner will not be the only competitor in the class to leave Daytona Beach with some valuable prizes.
In addition to the race-prepped engine to the winner, Briggs & Stratton Racing has posted four additional Animal engine kits to be awarded to the second through fifth-place finishers in the Daytona Pro Gas Animal main event.
Each of the second through fifth-place finishers will leave Daytona with a Briggs Animal engine kit, including a Pro Gas camshaft, World Formula billet rod, chain guard, air filter and complete spec RLV exhaust system.
Pro Gas Animal will run as one of the headline divisions at the Daytona Dirt World Championships. A non-pro Gas Animal division will also be offered, serving as a warm-up to the $2,000-To-Win Pro Gas Animal division. It will be mandatory Pro Gas Animal entrants run the non-pro Gas Animal class.
WKA’s Keith Shampine notes, “Most dirt racers and teams are unaware of the Pro Gas Animal package, and we’re hoping that changes over the coming months, heading into Daytona. The engine is less expensive than the traditional Animal and requires less maintenance while still producing good horsepower. In the Gold Cup Series, we started with about 10 entrants right off the bat at Jacksonville in March, and by the season closer a couple weeks ago at Kershaw, South Carolina, Senior Pro Gas was the largest class at over 25 entrants. The Gold Cup racers have been extremely pleased with its performance and durability.”

The Pro Gas Animal has served as a less-expensive alternative to the traditional methanol-powered Animal. Here are some of the benefits to the Pro Gas Animal engine as opposed to the methanol.
