Track News: Sunoco Race Fuels to Power Five-Week Rental League Beginning This Wednesday
Sunoco Race Fuels has signed on as the official sponsor of the GoPro Motorplex Rental League five-week, Wednesday night series set to begin this Wednesday night, Oct. 16. The GoPro Motorplex Rental League Powered by Sunoco Race Fuels will not only provide a highly-competitive outlet for entrants looking for a cost effective entry into karting, but the partnership with Sunoco Race Fuels increases the exposure and prize packages competitors will receive for participating in the series.
Throughout the five-week series, GoPro Motorplex will utilize Sunoco 260GTX race fuel to power their fleet of Sodikart RT8 390cc rental karts. As the largest manufacturer of racing gasolines in the world, Sunoco has a 40-year track record of winning performances.
With Sunoco Race Fuels as our partner for the Rental League, competitors will see additional prizes per round and within the overall championship, including Sunoco gas station gift cards and several victory lane assets seen on podiums in the highest levels of motorsports competition.
Dedicated solely to rental kart racing, the GoPro Motorplex Rental League Powered by Sunoco Race Fuels will be a five-week series on Wednesday nights from Oct. 16 through Nov. 13.
GoPro Motorplex Rental League Powered by Sunoco Race Fuels Schedule:
Nov. 13 – Champion’s Night
*Drop Rule: Each competitor’s lowest round (All 3 Heat Races) of the five rounds will be dropped from the points calculation. The points championship will be based on competitors’ best four of five Rounds.
The points championship will feature a Light and Heavy division of rental kart racing using our fleet of Sodikart RT8 390cc karts, the newest and most advanced machines in the industry. Unlike the RACERSITES Cup and Stock Car Steel/SRI Championship Series, this series will NOT include TaG Senior and Masters kart racing.
The GoPro Motorplex Rental League Powered by Sunoco Race Fuels will follow the same format from the Stock Car Steel/SRI Championship Series. Each segment of the series will feature an eight-minute practice session and three, 10-lap heat races. The driver with the highest combined points total from all three heat races will win overall for the night. All three heat races will count for points towards the championship series title as well.
This format gives Rental Kart League competitors more opportunities for structured racing and increases fairness by eliminating kart selection advantages because all three heat races count for points, instead of just awarding points for a final race.
If you are interested in participating in our Rental League, you can register for the series via MotorsportReg.com. The registration fee is $75 per Round. We are offering a discount for registering for the entire five-round series before Oct. 16 at a cost of $350. To register for the GoPro Motorplex Rental League Powered by Sunoco Race Fuels, CLICK HERE.
The Light and Heavy divisions of the Rental League will be capped at 22 entrants per division, per round and the spots are on a first-come basis. Therefore, if you are interested in running the entire series for points, it is in your best interest to pay for the complete series and reserve your spot for all five rounds.
Before registering for our Rental League, please review the RACE FORMAT AND RULES SHEET. Competitors must be at least 16 years old to enter.
We have modified our event schedule to provide a more accommodating, later start time for competitors. To review the minute-by-minute event schedule that will apply to each round of the Rental League Powered by Sunoco Race Fuels, CLICK HERE.
