Each Labor Day weekend, droves of karters from across the country have traveled to the Rock Island Grand Prix. The Quad Cities festival event is something like no other, tagged as the world’s largest street race. Both on and off the track, the excitement never ends. After 19 editions of the event, this year’s races proved once again you can never predict what will happen.

The Yamaha SuperCan Medium has been part of the Rock Island Grand Prix since 1995. Over the 17 previous events, nine drivers have claimed victory in one of the hotly contested divisions. This year’s event saw three former winners and welcomed a tenth member to the win list – Tony Neilson. To recognize the best race seen at the Rock Island Grand Prix in recent years, EKN TV is happy to present you On-Board with Todd Bolton for all 15 laps. Accompanying the video is the direct live play-by-play from EKN’s own Rob Howden.

The EKN Trackside Live 2013 Tour will continue at the end of the September as the crew travels to the Streets of Lancaster Grand Prix. The Southern California street race is a growing event, and will host the final round of the Superkarts! USACalifornia ProKart Challenge. 1. This is absolutely fantastic. Overlaying Rob’s call over a video like this is brilliant, would love to see more like this!

    Awesome race too!

    • Thanks Jon. You can find more videos like that on our Youtube page. We did one from the SKUSA SpringNationals with Louie Pagano, and a few more in recent years. Our hope is to create one with every EKN Trackside Live broadcast we do – including the Streets of Lancaster GP next week, the Rotax Pan-American Challenge and of course, the SKUSA SuperNationals XVII.
