Dallas Karting Complex Race Team Signs Top Driver Louie Pagano
Texas-based Sodi Kart racing team adds eKartingNews.com #1 TaG driver for remainder of 2013 and upcoming 2014 season
Dallas Karting Complex is growing into a premiere team in North American karting. Becoming regulars at nearly all the major events in karting, including the Superkarts USA! Pro Tour, as well as the United States Rotax Max Challenge Grand Nationals, the official Sodi Kart United States race team is making noise wherever they go. The most recent burst of excitement comes with the signing of Southern California hotshoe Louie Pagano.
“Kevin Adds and I have felt for a long time now that Pagano was the right fit for our team. I approached Louie about a year ago in Portugal at the Rotax Grand Finals, but the structure wasn’t quite in place at the time. Since then, we have acquired direct assistance from the Sodi Kart factory,” said Dallas Karting Complex co-owner Mike Jones regarding the team’s addition of Pagano. “We certainly feel Louie is an asset to DKC and the Sodi Kart brand here in the United States.”
Pagano, an 18-year old California native has competed in karting’s highest ranks going on nearly 10 years. Pagano was crowned champion of the Challenge of the Americas as a Rotax Junior racer in 2010. He also recorded a runner-up finish in the coveted SKUSA SuperNationals in 2012, as well as coming home with a vice-champion position this past winter at the Challenge of the Americas program in Senior Max. Pagano has represented Team USA at the Rotax Grand Finals numerous times, including last year’s event in Portugal where he tallied a 23rd place finish in a very stout Rotax Senior field.
“I am super excited for what the future holds. Pairing up with the DKC and Sodi Kart will bring nothing but good things,” Pagano said of joining the Texas team. “I want to thank everyone who has helped me get to this point in my career, including my parents, the rest of my family, my girlfriend Taylor, Dave Thompson, the entire Lobaugh family and everyone at MRP.”
The Dallas Karting Complex opened in the spring of 2011 under the direction of Mike Jones and Kevin Adds. DKC began their partnership with the Sodi Kart brand as the chassis of the complex’s rental kart, with the race team adopted Sodi Kart as their official chassis. In the last year, DKC has received full support from the Sodi Kart factory, which in turn has taken the whole program to the next level. DKC most recently racked up an impressive weekend of results at the United States Rotax Max Challenge Grand Nationals in North Carolina, which saw many of their drivers run up front in their respective classes. Sean Owens and Mike Jones each brought home runner-up finishes, each stamping a ticket to this year’s Rotax Grand Finals at the NOLA Motorsports Park in New Orleans this November.
Pagano will finish the 2013 season with DKC as the team heads to the Rotax Pan-American Challenge in New Orleans, and then Pagano will contest the TaG Senior class once again at the SKUSA SuperNationals in Las Vegas aboard his new Sodi Kart. From there, Pagano and DKC will be a matchup to pay close attention to in 2014 as the 18-year old will race both Rotax and Stock Moto according to Jones.
