Series News: Gearup Challenge Prize and Event Details
The team has been very busy in the off season and happy to have finally completed our 2013 season prize package just in time for round #1 at NJMP on 4/20-4/21.
The 2012 SuperNats Las Vegas prizes where a huge hit but we wanted to go with a package that will complete our vision of creating a karting program that will prep drivers for a career in racing. The F-Series is very proud to have partnered with Bertil Roos Racing School to create a fabulous SR class division prize package for the 2013 champions. The prize will include a fantastic experience in a Formula 2000 race car! All Sr drivers are eligible since they have previous racing experience and meet minimum age requirements.
As previously released the Jr prize package will consist of a $1000 cash payout. Since Las Vegas was such a huge hit we have decided to give the highest points winning champion the opportunity to choose their desired prize of either $1000, Bertil Roos Racing Adventure, or a trip to the 2013 Las Vegas Supernats. Jr champions are limited to choose between the $1000 or the Vegas trip since they are ineligible for the driving school. MG Tires has been a huge supporter of our vision and has proven it once again with generous prizes, that we will be distributed to our second place points earners one set of the class specific tires, a fabulous jacket and apparel to match. Third place overall will receive a fantastic Gearup F-Series apparel package.
The past three years have been very good for giving us the valuable knowledge on how to create a better and more enjoyable karting experience for everyone from novice to pro. Some of the improvements include the all new Formula Tag class and the modification to the ultra competitive F355 that will see the lowest weight Leopard engine program in the country. A very positive step forward for the coming year is our great friendship with the Northeast Shifter Kart group that has decided to complete our program by joining the majority of our events. Most of the rules and regulations have remained the same but that is not the case for the overall program. 2013 will see many improvements on and off track. An added top shelf communication system will ensure smooth running races as well as improve safety!
Our new website will feature many amenities as well as up to date points after the events. Improved tech inspection and the use bar code scanners to monitor tires. Free tire mounting will continue to be a benefit to all who purchase tires from the series. We are ecstatic that Robert Hicks will remain the voice of the Gearup Challenge and will make our events super exciting. We are also fortunate enough to have George Moss signed on to elevate the series with his fantastic racing videos. The addition of a TV monitor to feature live timing will keep everyone up to date throughout the day. One of our most exciting additions for the first race will be the performance of the Formula Girls, that will also be kind enough to offer our front racers umbrella support for the final rounds of the day!!
Last but not least NJMP has extended their generosity even a little further to the Gearup Challenge competitors with a very special evening at Finish Line Pub on Saturday from 7-9 with an F-Series pre-race party. Make sure to attend with your neon green Gearhead wristband to receive special discounts!!
Looking forward to a really fun and exciting racing season make sure to check out all the detailed info on http://www.f1series.com. Detailed prize information will be listed shortly!
