Series News: RACERSITES Cup – Round 4 Preview

Ladies, Start Your Engines for Powder Puff Racing During RACERSITES Cup Round Four at MMX

Racersites Cup logoWith only two rounds of RACERSITES Cup racing action remaining in the series, Round Four guarantees to contain some of the best racing yet as drivers battle to claim the first-ever RACERSITES Cup Championship title. Round Four will also feature the first-ever MMX rental kart Powder Puff race where the ladies will take the wheel in an eight-lap race around the 0.7-mile track.

“I’ve had a lot of fun the past few weeks at Mooresville Motorplex,” said well-known NASCAR mechanic and Sprint Car driver, Ashley Parlett, who is signed up to participate in the Powder Puff race. “The track is fun to drive and the rental karts are pretty sporty! I saw that MMX was hosting a Powder Puff race this week and I’m excited that a bunch of my girlfriends have already signed up. Hopefully they get hooked like I am and we can move all “girls night out” events to MMX!”

RACERSITES Cup Powder Puff Race: The field for the Powder Puff race is set to 22 entrants, so be sure to call the MMX office, 704-696-2926, to pre-register for a cost of only $10. A random draw will set the grid for the race that will begin with a standing start. The Powder Puff race will run during opening ceremonies at 7 p.m., followed by a brief trophy presentation in the training room.

RACERSITES Cup Round Four: Scott Speed powered back to his second TaG Senior win of the series last week, after a mechanical failure caused him a DNF in Round Two. This closed up the TaG Senior points battle to a tie between Speed and Jason Bowles, leaving the last two races to determine the champion. Round Four’s TaG Senior and TaG Masters divisions are expected to be star-studded with drivers, Kasey Kahne, Ryan Briscoe, Brad Sweet, Justin Allgaier, Matt Crafton, Colin Braun and several others.

The Rental Kart League Light and Heavy divisions have no shortage of NASCAR star power with drivers, Ryan Blaney, Ross Chastain, Ryan Truex, Kevin Swindell and Bubba Wallace all making appearances. NASCAR Nationwide Series driver, Drew Herring, is tied for the points lead in the Rental League Light division.

Each Wednesday night segment of the RACERSITES Cup consists of two practice sessions, a qualifying session and feature racing under the lights for each class. A champion will be crowned after the completion of the five-week series on April 10. Gates open at 3 p.m. with feature racing set to begin at 7 p.m.

There is a $10 Facility Entrance Fee for all spectators. Individuals who have a MMX membership will not be charged a Facility Entrance Fee. Competitors will only be charged for their RACERSITES Cup event registration fee. Powder Puff entrants will not be asked to pay the admittance fee.
