Popular Mid-West Regional Program Brings Mini Rok Category as Official Qualifier
Rok Cup USA, together with the Great Lakes Sprint Series, announced today the addition of the GLSS as an Official Rok Cup USA Region. Forming the Mini Rok Category as the first step in the Rok Cup program, the GLSS will add the class to both Saturday and Sunday competition for each of its four events of the 2013 Calendar. In support for the Mini Rok Category at GLSS this year, Rok Cup USA will provide prizes for the class throughout the year to include a set of tires to each of the winners, Rok Cup USA swag, to name a few. Most importantly, the 2013 Mini Rok GLSS Champion will receive a free entry into the 2013 Rok Cup USA Championship Event, where the winner may qualify for a fully-funded entry into the Rok Cup International Final, this October at South Garda, Italy.
“The GLSS is excited to offer the Mini Rok class as part of our 2013 schedule which kicks off at the famous New Castle Motorsport Park the weekend of May 10-11, according to Kevin Harter, series President. “We expect to have a full field of Mini Rok drivers throughout the year competing for the USA Championship Event entry, and we are extremely pleased with the contingency prizes that Rok Cup USA will be providing.” The GLSS will be contesting a four event schedule for 2013, with round two taking place at MRP June 21-31, round three at G&J Kartway the weekend of July 19-21 and round four at Pitt Race Complex the weekend of Aug 9-11. The GLSS will look to grow the Rok class offerings in 2014 to include both Rok Junior and Rok Senior.
