Simply put, SuperNationals 5 and basically the entire 2001 season that preceded it, belonged to Scott Speed. Pairing a quick young driver with a JM Racing Tony Kart and monster SwedeTech power proved to be a lethal combination. Scott won four of the five Superkarts! USA ProMoto Tour SuperPro races, in addition to the SuperNationals. This success helped to propel a career in motorsports that has extended all the way to Formula One, NASCAR, and now a Red Bull Global Rallycross championship in a VW Beetle that carried the familiar #41. Finishing second in SuperNats V was Las Vegas native Matt Jaskol, a frontrunner at the SuperNats to this day in the headline categories. Third place was his Paul Tracy Karting teammate AJ Allmendinger of IndyCar and NASCAR fame. Be sure to catch all the action this year at www.ekartingnews.com/live #SuperNats19
