SuperNationals 6 took American kart racing to the next level, when former Superkarts! USA CEO Jim Murley relocated the event to the Rio Hotel & Casino and putting the event live on the air for the new HDNet television network. Rising star Ron White was selected by Shifter Kart Illustrated as the ‘Driver of the Year’ going into the Las Vegas spectacular just days before the SuperSunday event. The NorCal driver continued the momentum on-track, qualifying on the pole position and winning his heat race to start the main event from P1. White showed the way, holding off 2000 ProMoto Tour champion Bobby Wilson for the victory. White used the victory to catapult himself into the 2003 championship in the SuperPro division, the final year the modified-moto engine was utilized on the national stage. In 2004, White became one of only a few Americans to win in Europe at a CIK-FIA ICC event in Sarno, Italy. Now, 13 years later from that illustrious SuperNats triumph, White remains as one of the top S1 drivers and race team owners with Ron White Racing.
